Camp info for parents

To parents and guardians: please read through the additional details below about ClubGolf camp.

ClubGolf Camp - action packed days of golf coaching, fun and games!

If your child has their own set of golf clubs, please bring them - but ensure their bag/clubs are easily identified so we don't have any mishaps or lost clubs! For children that do not have their own clubs, the camp leaders will have a limited supply available to borrow.

Although some golf clubs have a certain dress code, ClubGolf believes campers should wear what they feel comfortable in. There will be a variety of outdoor team games and activities and as Scotland's weather can be unpredictable, we urge you to check weather forecasts to ensure your child has appropriate clothing and protection for the Scottish summer:

  • Warm outdoor clothes
  • A waterproof jacket
  • Trainers /outdoor shoes
  • A spare pair of socks
  • Sun cream

Lunch and snacks

Please send your child with a nice healthy packed lunch each day, particularly if they are attending camp from 10am – 2pm. They will be active throughout the day, so please ensure they have enough water, juice and snacks to see them through the day.

What happens during the Camp?

Your child will enjoy learning new golf techniques and playing in fun skills challenges and games throughout the week. There will be Tee Time Tasks to keep them entertained during breaks, and to engage and remind them about what they have learnt so far. Their coaches will encourage them to get stuck into creative activities such as drawing, word searches and quizzes at certain points during the camp. Your child may be asked to complete a homework activity too and we hope you will support them and get involved.

Positive Coaching Scotland

The Positive Coaching Scotland (PCS) programme is about creating a positive environment in youth sport - one which focuses on encouraging effort and learning, improving performance and fostering competition. This focus helps young people to understand the importance of effort rather than winning at all costs.

The programme involves key influencers in a young person's life and below you should be able to find information whether you are a coach, teacher, parent or club leader of young people in sport. Our ClubGolf coaches will be using the principles of PCS. You will receive a flyer in your child's goody bag - and we hope you'll have a read through and support our efforts at home.
