Looking for a job in golf events? Then we have a fantastic opportunity for you. The Scottish Golf Union has two new vacancies within our Events Team and we are now seeking applicants for two Events Officer positions.
Dynamic, motivated and hard-working candidates are sought for
these exciting roles. A sound knowledge of golf is required and you
should have experience in working in an events environment. Good
communication skills are also required and the ability to work
within a small and busy team.
We stage a number of national amateur championships and other
golf events throughout Scotland each year and the Events Officers
will play a key role in staging these successfully and to the high
standards we operate.
Reporting to the Events Manager (Acting), the role will require
the post holder to:
- Assist in planning and staging the annual SGU championships and
events schedule, including venue liaison, course set-up,
administration of entries and draws, on-line software management
and coordination of event volunteers
- Manage specific events within the schedule
- Activate sponsorship requirements at events, including signage,
branding and other marketing activity
- Assist with media requirements around events
You will work alongside the Events Manager (Acting) and Events
Administrator, while contributing to other departments within the
Scottish Golf Union, particularly Performance and Marketing as well
as playing a full and active part in the ongoing development of
golf in Scotland.
